SUBLIME KINGDOM LIGHT TOPIC: Surrounded by many Cloud of Witnesses TEXT: Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. (KJV) INTRODUCTION A race is set before us to embark on and complete with testimonies of how we overcame. There is a congregation of brethrens who pioneered it. We must learn from them. MESSAGE: We are presented with the race of our destiny on the basis of our peculiarities and uniqueness. This race is the journey of destiny and purpose, and ultimately the journey of meeting our redeemer. Every man that existed here was made to fulfil a certain purpose allotted to him specifically by his maker before his birth Jeremiah (1:5). Even Jesus was not excepted in this deific plan. Hence, He declared openly the essence of His existence (Hebrews 10:7). It is also important to know that, fulfilling this purpose is the original Will of God for every man. Thus, the distance between one's birth to the place of accomplishment of his destiny and purpose is termed "The Journey". Meanwhile, There is an attitude or sense orientation any man who will complete his race successfully must develop. It is the knowledge and consciousness of indispensable truths and directions as regards to this destiny fulfilment journey. We must know that we are surrounded by many cloud of witnesses. They are those men and women who had run the race before us and had succeeded. Cloud of witnesses are the spirits of just men made perfect. Those brethrens whose names are in the chronicle of People Of Heroic Deeds, who through faith endured the pains of torture, persecutions, chains and imprisonment. Whilst others suffered afflictions, mocking and scourging, and conquered kingdoms through their faith (Hebrews 11:32-39). Moreover, it's pertinent we know that these men are still standing and watching us in our race. Hence, we are surrounded by them. The name " Witness" implies those that serve as evidence in a court. These men will stand on that day to attest to the challenges and persecutions of the saints on the earth and how they conquered. So that none of us will give excuse of his own inability to make it successfully. However, these men are not complete without us, they need us to be perfected. This is why we must keep pressing to finish well like them. Meanwhile, there is principle and standard which guides our step so that we will not fail but end well like them. We have the word of God also as our guidance. Another principle is laying aside the weight of sin. The weight of sin can rest heavily on us and draw us backward, delays our journey and ends it abruptly. This can cut short our experience and manifestation of potentials resident in the destiny we carry. To end triumphantly, we must also journey with perseverance. Perseverance instills in us the character of persistence even in the face of discouragement, oppositions and past failures. It incites in us the ability to endure shame and discomfort for the sake of the prize that awaits us. Perseverance takes no cognizant of negativities in the race but of positive influences. Therefore, anyone who runs with perseverance will not weary on the way. FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Purpose discovery is prerequisite to the purpose accomplishment. COUNSEL: Be determined to fulfil your destiny, and be sin free so as to enable well. PRAYER: Lord give me the revelation I need to discover my destiny.
