SUBLIME KINGDOM LIGHT TOPIC: A Summoning for Kingdom Business TEXT: Hebrews 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.(KJV) INTRODUCTION: There is need for us to draw near, if we must touch God in this season. And we must draw nigh with a clean conscience and pure heart. MESSAGE: Mysteries are too expensive to be leased to common men. Secrets and revelations are too weighty and heavy to be unfolded and accessed in a multitudinous environment. A multitudinous environment is an environment of public activities, where myriad of men settle. A place where men with mundane and casual attribute function. Nothing too serious happens there. That is why we hear God in this passage beckoning on us. He wants to transact serious kingdom business with us. But just as we humans are not comfortable to relate confidential and valuable asset to those who are not our acquaintance, same way God doesn't reveal the codes of His government to one who is a stranger. He is specific to the breeds He unveils the mysteries of His kingdom to. (Matthew 13:11) But when we come near, the hidden truths will be exhumed. It is the desire of Elohim, to have an intimate relationship with us. He is willing to interact with us every day, every night. One out His intentions for making man is to fellowship with him. Perhaps that was why He made man in His likeness. Yaweh delights in that sensation He gets from our presence as His creature (Genesis 4:8). That is why He comes when we gather in prayer meetings and Bible study fellowship. Even in our personal time (quiet time) with Him. And He is mostly the one summoning us to come. He needs our tremendous attention for many purposes that we cannot decode until we draw nigh. God has countless burdens, knowledge and standards He wants to inculcate onto us but is being restricted by boundary (gap) we set. So, He keeps telling us "come up hither" (Revelation 4:1). It is expedient that we know that God has proposed to do something big with us this time, but He can not achieve that without first achieving intimacy. Intimacy is a requisite condition for accessing Shekinah. Hence, we can not know God fully if we are still far from Him. You can't get answers to your prayers or know what He says concerning your life if that gap is still there. Yet, another condition God demands for free flowing of His presence is that we must draw nigh with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. The practical implication of this, is that we must keep to His standard of holiness. We must not appear before His presence with any manner of defilement. For no man with any impurity shall see God (Matthew 5:8). Our God detests sin, even the scripture attests that His eyes is too holy to beyond iniquity. And we can see that the only thing that cut off the intimacy He had with our original parents was sin. Therefore, it is possible that one can draw near to God, but cannot have any intimate communion with Him. Sin is the source! FOOD FOR THOUGHT: If you refuse to draw nigh to God, devil will draw nigh to you, and finish you. COUNSEL: Go up hither and hear what God has to tell you.
