Obidient to the constituted Authorities

SUBLIME KINGDOM LIGHT TOPIC: Obedience to the Constituted Authority. TEXT: Romans 13:2 Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.(ESV) INTRODUCTION: Authority is the physical force that can be used to put man under control. It is God's institution. As disciples of Jesus, we must show obedience and submission to it. MESSAGE: Naturally, man can not obey law/ instructions if not compelled by authority. Leave man to his willful character and actions, you will discover that no man will want to subject his or herself to the established guide for a good conduct of life voluntarily expect by compulsion. That was why God appointed this human authority to help inculcate morals and disciplines in man. Furthermore, if man including old and young, male and female (and every other classes of man) was designed to have equal authority over another, such that there is no leaders, teachers or any constituted authority over another; the society will experience anarchy. The disorderliness, sin and other Leissez-faire attitudes as contrast to godliness will be maximized. The instance is that if there was no law makers, enforcers of law and punishers of defaulters, there would have been terrible alarming increase in social vices like arm robbery, theft, rape, drug abuse, human trafficking, etc. Hence, the reason for institution of constituted authority. This authority is the governing body that controls and manage the activities of man in this human space. This authority was positioned by God to inhibit erring attitude of people, therefore, we must submit to them. Though we must not doubt the infiltration of corruption and decay in the authority system as a result of frailty of man, yet, we must submit wisely. We must subject ourselves under them, obeying every genuine standard or course of action they imposed on us. Being a child of God does not deprive us from keeping our obligations as citizen, we must learn to pay taxes and revenues as stipulated for us. Even Jesus Himself exemplified submission by paying tax (Matthew 17:24-27). Therefore, we must submit too, knowing that those who rebel against them will incur God's judgement because they rebel against what God designed for the betterment of the kingdom. FOOD FOR THOUGHT:Those in authority are God's human instrument that are designed for enacting godliness in the society. COUNSEL:Do not let your obedience to human government lead to your disobedience to the government of God. PRAYER: Oh God empower me to abide by authority you put over me PROPHETIC DECLARATION Every spell of disobedience to men and God's authority over your life is broken in Jesus name 🙏.
