SUBLIME KINGDOM LIGHT DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE. TOPIC: Love for the World 1 TEXT: 1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.(KJV) INTRODUCTION: Love is the expression of affection and care over a being or materials. There is a space of love in every man's heart. But the love is guided by what the heart of man is preoccupied with. MESSAGE: Before now, what God tried to inculcate onto man is the love for Him and the things of God. For He knew that the power of love is irresistible. There is a compelling force of action that is embedded in the attribute of love. Even Jesus could not resist it, He came and died for our sins because of the love He has for man. It was love that pushed Him to the cross. When we love God, the preoccupation of our hearts will be to do His will and make Him happy. Likewise when the love of the world beclouds our hearts, it will become our wishful and desperate desire to acquire and possess all the things of the world. However, this forms our point of emphasis, do not love the world. Love for the world literally means love for the things of the world. It means affinity for the standards and system of the world. Love for the world is the attitude of the heart of a natural man. Whenever our hearts only pant after the materials of this space, it is sign that we love the world. This stresses to the euphoric expression of our hearts towards the facilities gotten through the pattern of the world. When our happiness depends only on the things of the world and the pleasure in it. Anytime our joy begins to find expression only on what we possess in this space, our children, our jobs, our husbands, wives, our houses, cars and the rest; that is an evidence of affinity for the world. What are you obsessed with?, if it's not after the will of God; check your heart. FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Love for the world fumbles our expression of love to God COUNSEL: Do not love the world more than you love God. PRAYER Oh God help me to love you more than anything on earth, let the love for the world die from my heart in Jesus name 🙏.
