TOPIC: Attack On Our Alignment TEXT: Luke 22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat (KJV) INTRODUCTION: The devil always desire to pull us apart from the way and work of God, which aftermath will be to destroy us. But the Lord sustains us by his power. MESSAGE: The earnest desire of devil is to sift us like wheat. To frustrate and separate us from the power and keeping of God. His attempt always has been to drift us away from the assignment God has given to us. He uses diverse schemes to distract us from the purpose of our existence. Here in this passage we saw Jesus foretelling Simon the designs of devil against his ministry. The labour (ministry) of the disciples became the target of the devil. When devil wants to destroy the mandate assigned to children of God, he will sit back and begin to consider the suitable scheme, and will then go and fashion it. He designs it based on the weakness and ignorance of them. This is the craftiness character of the devil. Meanwhile, it is expedient that we know that devil takes time to construct a strong and effective plan for his destructive action. But God sustains us by His power and might. Our father Lord who sent us into the mission already know the beguiling attribute of the devil, therefore, He (God) will not keep quiet and allow His mighty to fall. Hope we know that if Jesus had not intervened and interceded for Peter before the incident, Peter would have been overtaken by his weakness and ignorance (Luke 22:32). That incident of betrayal would have been the cause of his failure and death, if mercy had not found him before the time. However, we must not play ignorance to the mission of devil against God's elect. This is to awaken our consciousness and intentional course of action to guard and defend our alignment to God's programme for our destiny. 2 Corinthians 2:11. We must know that Satan has plenty arrows of attack; arrows of discouragement, loss of love one, doubt, famine, loss of job, etc. FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Failure becomes inevitable when there is displacement or shift from the alignment of God's programme and presence. COUNSEL: Let no circumstances or incident pull your out of alignment with Jesus.
